Acne Fighting Foods

Acne is a disease that cannot be cured with creams or pills. Knowing exactly which acne fighting foods to eat is a huge step in the right direction. However, you must also avoid foods that are bad for your skin too.

Here are 2 foods you should eat that will help prevent acne, as well as 2 foods you simply must avoid if you wish to stay clear.

Foods with Omega-3 fatty acids

Omega-3 fatty acids are found in foods such as fish, flaxseeds, and nuts. The reason omega-3 works so well is because it’s an anti-inflammatory (low grade inflammation is one of the biggest causes of acne). Not only that, but it’s great at reducing stress.

Foods with vitamin A

Sweet potatoes, liver, mangoes, and carrots are all rich in vitamin A. Vitamin A is great for the skin as long as you get it from food sources. Taking a vitamin A supplement can be dangerous and you can overdose on it.

With that being said, on the flip side of the coin are foods that you MUST avoid if you want to get (and stay) clear. Here are 2 of them that I recommend you stop eating immediately:

Most vegetable oils

With the exceptions of olive oil and coconut oil, most vegetable oils are terrible for acne-prone people. The worst part is, vegetable oils are found in many more foods than you think. Almost all processed foods are full of harmful vegetable oils and must be avoided if you want to clear your pimples, blackheads, and cysts.

Foods with excess sugar

Excess sugar is one of the worst things you can put into your body period, let alone acne. Sugar raises your insulin levels, which causes sebum(oil) to be excreted from the skin. This clogs your pores and eventually causes acne.

Acne is a very curable disease as long as you know exactly what you’re doing. There are other foods that are very beneficial toward acne, as well as several others you must avoid right now unless you want to have acne for a long, long time.
