There isn’t a single person out there who likes having acne. Most of us spend quite a lot of time and effort fighting against breakouts. We spend tons of money on products that are supposed to give us better and acne free skin. Unfortunately not everyone grows out of acne problems when they leave puberty. Lots of people never stop fighting against acne or zits or breakouts. If you are fed up with acne fighting and having bad skin, here are some tips you can use to help yourself.
The first thing you need to do is find a good cleanser. When you are shopping for your cleanser you need to use a variety of criteria; don’t choose a cleanser simply because it is not oil based. You should also look at the salicylic acid. People who have to deal with really bad acne will use the salicylic acid content as their primary search criteria. If your breakouts are not that bad, your cleanser only needs salicylic acid to do some basic cleaning. Salicylic acid should not be used regularly when you get older and your skin has gotten thinner and more sensitive. If you wear makeup regularly try switching brands to something lighter or simply wearing less of it each day. Many bases/foundations are now enhanced with sunscreen which means that you do not need to apply both products. Instead of choosing “regular” make up, buy make up that is made with minerals and vitamins that help your skin stay healthy. Don’t base your make up choices on price alone. Try not to smear on more makeup than you really need. The goal is to wear as little makeup as you can. Don’t fret; you can still look amazing without caking layers of stuff onto your face! It is incredibly important for the health of your skin that you go to bed with a clean (and makeup free) face. Leaving it on overnight is almost guaranteed to cause breakouts and acne!
Lower your stress level! Did you know that your acne and breakouts can be caused by a stress level that is too high? It is important to take some time for yourself every day to lower your stress. It is a good idea to learn how to calm yourself down when you feel your stress levels get out of control. If your regular lifestyle is highly stressed, think about slowing it down a little. When you let yourself relax you should find that your acne gets better (as does your overall outlook on life)! The best way to treat an acne breakout is also the most basic way to treat an acne breakout: wash your face and don’t pick at your zits. Sometimes you need something with a little bit more kick to fight your breakout. The good news is that, whether you are in your teens, twenties or sixties–there are plenty of ways to help you keep the acne at bay!
